Can I use a Vitamin C serum with the night face oil?

So confusing right? At first I used to think well what is the difference what goes first?

Serums tend to be mainly water based products, which means the molecules are smaller and can reach into the deeper layers of the skin.

Serums tend to be used after cleansing in the morning, vitamin C helps with fading scarring, dark spots, pigmentation, acne and reducing the size of pores.. Now it is entirely up to you on how layer your skincare, but its important to understand why you are using certain active ingredients. Also check and do a test patch.

So when is the facial oil used? Layering skincare can always be so confusing. What goes where and when!? I have always recommended that the night face oil to be used of course at night and as the last step in your routine to get the best results. The oil acts as a barrier and will lock in moisture. The fragrance free night face oil is by far the most popular product in our store and you will absolutely fall in love with it!

Here are some tips on how to layer your skincare

Start light

Apply the thinnest product first for example serums.

Apply antioxidant

Using Vitamin C is beneficial, It brightens, protects against sun damage, and promotes collagen production. However, if you have sensitive skin, vitamin C can also make your skin sting! Always do a test patch!

Take a break!

Allow the products to actual work and penetrate into your skin. Come back in 5 minutes and carry on with your routine. In meantime, stick the kettle on!

Lock down

Yes, another lock down. We want to lock in the moisture and the goodness from the other serums.

Add an oil!

Locking moisture is important, but apply a facial oil helps with sealing the moisture and creates a healthy skin barrier too.

Don't forget, if you are new to Solo Skin London, you can now purchase sample sizes which lasts you up to a month giving your skin enough time to see if it actually works for you.
