4 Types of Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disorder where the skin multiplies 10 times faster than normal. They can grow anywhere on the body, some people only have a few patches and others suffer very badly and have psoriasis cover their whole body.

Here are 5 types of psoriasis:

Plaque Psoriasis

This is the most common psoriasis. This is red inflamed skin covered with silver scales which are dry and flaky. This type of psoriasis can be itchy, dry and can be inflamed which can cause some bleeding. This can be found all over the body including the scalp.

Pustular Psoriasis

Again, red and scaly patches on the skin which can be found in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet.

Guttate Psoriasis

Can start off in childhood or early adulthood can be found in torso and limbs.

Inverse Psoriasis

Shiny patches which can be found in folds of the body, example armpits, under the breast.

Erythrodermic Psoriasis

Fiery redness of the skin and shedding of scales in sheets. It's triggered by severe sunburn, infections, certain medications

Although psoriasis can not be cured, treating the symptoms can help. For example, I (Naz) suffer with psoriasis and I knew that stress was my trigger and my patches were itchy. I knew to overcome psoriasis I needed to de-stress and apply the nourishing body oil which helps slow down skin renewal and hydrates the skin at the same time. I knew that hydration was key for my psoriasis as well as good stress management. The moment I felt stressed I would use breathing exercises, go for walks or even just have some me time by pampering myself.
